Lying in bed after my usual pre-bed stretch session and thinking I’ve completely lost all focus for my 50m event training schedule.
I’ve been sticking to my training plan. I even survived last week’s cut back week! So why do I feel that I’ve been ‘floating’ through these last few weeks of training?
It’s 6 weeks until the 50m event. Perhaps training has become the norm? Perhaps the stress of the event has disappeared? Perhaps my training sessions weren’t optimum? Perhaps it’s the effect of only running 27 miles this week – nearly half of my usual.
Whatever the reason I feel as if I need to re-focus and use the next 3-4 weeks to fine tune my training.
I’ll guess we’ll see what the reason for the lack of focus is soon enough
