A couple of weeks ago I was contacted asking if I was interested in reviewing Oofos recovery shoes. Now I was fully aware of the brand and their claims and honestly, I had never considered buying them. I knew my usual post-race shoes were fine
Over 6 months ago I was selected to test the Epson runsense SF810 running watch with integrated heart rate monitor. I usually train with my Garmin Forerunner 225 so I was very interested to compare the two watches, especially as the Epson watch claimed Continue reading “Epson Runsense SF810”
Activbod – turn up the Heat roller gel
Through @ukrunchat I was given the *opportunity to test a product from Activbod. I opted to test the Turn up the Heat roller gel as it reported to help ease tired, aching muscles utilising arnica, rosemary and ginger (no camphor). I tend to suffer with tight, aching calves so I thought this may helping in relaxing them.
The instructions for application were clear: roll on the gel and activate with a small amount of water. I decided to try this on my calves and ham strings. I liberally applied the gel then splashed a small amount of water over the areas. At first Continue reading “Activbod – turn up the heat”
I was given the *opportunity through @ukrunchat to review a pair of New Balance shoes and I chose the Fresh Foam Zante V2 due to their reported lightweight nature and heel drop. They are a neutral cushioned road shoe with a weight of 204g and a drop of 6mm. It is made for fast pace.
My training uses a variety of shoe types with a variety of drops: anywhere from 12-zero drop. I thought this model would be a good choice for mid-distance Continue reading “New Balance Fresh Foam Zante V2”
Dexshell – Beanie solo waterproof thermal hat in red
After being given the *opportunity to review the DexShell waterproof beanie through @ukrunchat, towards the end of spring, I was a little concerned I wouldn’t be able to test this product to its full capabilities. Thankfully, the British weather came through and we experienced everything from hail, snow, wind, rain and sun. Usually in the space of a few hours!
I was contacted by Boot bananas and asked to do a product review for their shoe deodorizer….curious, I said yes.
They sent me two packs, free of charge, which arrived a couple of days from agreeing to review. Good delivery time.
I decided I wouldn’t do any pre-reading on the product

I was given the *opportunity to review the Brooks Glycerin through @ukrunchat
The Brooks Glycerin 13 is a neutral shoe that caters for a medium to high arch, a weight of 263g (9.3 oz), with a 10 mm drop. They are reported to be good for cushioning, fairly responsive with some traction but more suitable for track and road. These are the next model from the Glycerin 12 and are reported to have 25% more cushioning.
Upon receiving the Glycerin 13 Continue reading “Brooks Glycerin 13”
After Receiving a 50% discount code via @ukrunchat and @absolute360 I decided I would treat myself to a pair of IR (infra red) calf sleeves. Several runners within my running club wear compression calf sleeves either during training runs or as a recovery aid and I was very curious to see if these IR calf sleeves would provide any benefit to me.
